Hello and welcome to the Yuba River Club! formally known as Yuba Recreation, a private gated fishing club located right off Hwy 20 approximately 7 miles east of Yuba city and approximately 60 miles from Sacramento, California. My name is Perry Sims and I am the new club owner, a former member for many years. I am reopening the club to new memberships with a discount rate for 2020. The club consists of 144 acres of property behind a locked gate with Yuba River frontage access for walking and wading just before the Daguerre Point Dam. We are in the process of replacing the drift boat access and take out due to a high water event in 2017. A temporary slide ramp will be installed for use, until the permanent access is installed.
The walk and wade fishing near and on the club property has been stellar all year! We are getting lots of beautiful, hot, feisty Yuba fish, on dry fly’s trout spey / streamer and nymphing methods. These wild native “steel-trout” are renowed for their fighting spirit and power and boy are they stunningly beautiful!
We have campsites that will be available to use on a reservation basis. It will be “dry” rough style camping. Bring your RV or tent to enjoy these beautiful camp sites with tables, fire pits and barbecues.
There are also 2 ponds on the property that we are planning to improve and add a fish stocking program. The intent is to make these ponds a very high quality fishery. Stay tuned!
The eco-tourism and wild life viewing availability at the club is exceptional. There are bald eagles nesting right at the property border near the ponds. The eagles have been coming back every year from early winter to spring to raise their young. There are over 100 vernal pools on the property and some wetlands that are spectacular to see in the winter and spring. Some of the wildlife you might expect to see, and we have seen on the property, would include; Deer, bobcat, coyote, black bear, beavers, possum, otters, fox, bald eagles, osprey, heron, egret, ducks / waterfowl, valley quail, dove, and migratory birds of all species.
